Avance Gas’ 40,000m³ LPG/Liquid Ammonia Carrier Successfully Begins Construction

On September 10, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd (CIMC SOE) held a steel cutting ceremony for the second 40,000 m3 LPG/Liquid Ammonia Carrier built for Avance Gas.

Equipped with dual-fuel LPG engines and shaft generators, the new shipbuilding can be fueled by compliant bunker oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), contributing to further improvements in operations and maintenance (O&M) costs and environmental impact.

It can carry a wide range of liquefied gas cargoes such as LPG, liquid ammonia, vinyl chloride monomer, etc., and can meet the needs of cargo exchange transportation.

In May this year, the first 40,000m³ LPG/Liquid Ammonia Carrier built by CIMC SOE for Avance Gas Company was successfully commenced, which fills the gap of CIMC SOE’s product sequence of A-class liquefied gas carriers. At present, the construction of liquid tanks and hull of the vessel is in the process of promoting closely, and it will be keel laid at the beginning of November.

Avance Gas is understood to be one of the world’s leading VLGC owners and operators, operating a fleet of 14 modern vessels, including two dual-fuel VLGCs due for delivery in early 2024.
