CMA CGM welcomes the last vessel in the series of 15,000 TEU dual-fuel container vessels

On September 10th, Jiangnan Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), named and delivered the last vessel of a series of 15,000 TEU dual-fuel container vessels for CMA CGM Group 20 days earlier than the scheduled date of contractual delivery, and named the vessel as “CMA CGM LAGUNA”.

This series of vessels is a total of six 15,000 TEU dual-fuel container vessels built by Jiangnan Shipbuilding for CMA CGM Group. With an overall length of 366 meters, a beam of 51 meters, and a service speed of 22 knots, this batch of vessels adopts GTT Mark Ⅲ LNG containment system, which is characterized by large container capacity, advanced technology, energy saving and environmental protection.

At the same time, this batch of new shipbuilding adopts the global new generation of dual-fuel main engine with Intelligent Control by Exhaust Recycling (iCER) system, which can automatically track and dynamically adjust the ratio of air and gas through specific algorithms. Compared to the previous main engine, this engine can reduce methane escape in gas mode by 50%, which can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 28%.

It is understood that the financing of the ship owner of this project is supported by the Export-Import Bank of China. Since June 2013, Jiangnan Shipbuilding and CMA CGM have cooperated with each other for more than ten years, and have signed orders for a total of 23 vessels. The naming and delivery of “CMA CGM LAGUNA” is the 17th vessel in the cooperation.
