Guangzhou Yuanhai Automobile Shipping takes delivery of a 7,000 CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTC

On September 5, Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), named and delivered the first 7,000 CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTC built for CITIC Financial Leasing. The PCTC was completed and delivered nearly half a year ahead of schedule, setting a new historical record and marking GSI into the rapid construction mode of PCTC, with the construction efficiency reaching the world’s advanced level.

The PCTC was named “PEONY LEADER”. It has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 38 meters, a design draft of 8.6 meters with a speed of 19 knots. Equipped with 12 vehicle decks, the PCTC can be used for the transportation of cars, vans, heavy trucks, etc., as well as some dangerous goods and new energy vehicles.

After completion, the PCTC will be leased to Guangzhou Yuanhai Automobile Shipping, a joint venture company under COSCO Shipping Special Carriers, to be used for international transportation, which will provide stable and safe capacity support for Chinese automobile enterprises.

It is reported that Guangzhou Yuanhai Automobile Shipping is a third-party automobile logistics supply chain enterprise established by a joint venture of COSCO Shipping Special Transportation, SIPG Logistics and SAIC Ji’an Logistics.

Since the beginning of 2022, COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers, a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING, alongside its joint venture, Guangzhou Yuanhai Automobile Shipping Co., Ltd., has ordered 24 state-of-the-art, large-scale LNG dual-fuel RoRo ships with capacities ranging from 7,000 to 8,600 parking spaces. This strategic move establishes a substantial, cutting-edge, and environmentally friendly professional automobile fleet.
