Fujian Shipping places order for two 82,000 dwt bulk carriers

Fujian Shipping Company (Fujian Shipping) is continuing its fleet renewal program, according to Trade Winds.

Fujian Shipping has signed a contract for the construction of two 82,000 dwt Kamsarmax bulk carriers with Jiangsu Haitong Offshore Engineering Equipment Co.,Ltd.(JSHT), which are expected to be delivered in October 2026 and March 2027, respectively, according to Clarkson data.

Clarkson believes that the total value of the 2 new shipbuildings is about $82.4 million. While a month ago, the market price of the Kamsarmax bulk carrier was $37.5 million, up $3.7 million in just 1 month.

So far, Fujian Shipping has a fleet of 38 vessels, including bulk carriers, general cargo vessels, multi-purpose heavy lift vessels and tankers.

JSHT is located in the first class open ports, the provincial key shipbuilding park—Rugao port. With a total land area of 500,000 m2, has 660m outfitting quay. JSHT promotes modern shipbuilding model, has one dry dock of 400m*50m; with one 1,100ton and one 300ton gantry crane; 10,000ton outfitting quay with two 4075 cranes; has pretreatment workshop, steel-cutting workshop, block workshop, piping workshop and painting workshop etc., the total production workshop area is 100,000 m2, with other 1000 sets advanced equipment.
