CPGC’s shaft generator device of 2MW low-speed engine passes CCS certification test

Recently, the shaft generator device of 2MW low-speed engine jointly developed by China Shipbuilding Power Engineering Institute Co., Ltd. (CSPI) and CSSC Marine Power Zhenjiang has successfully completed a number of tests, including no-load, static and transient characteristics, overload/overcurrent/over speed, temperature rise of the shaft generator system, etc., and all the performance indexes meet the requirements of the classification society specifications.

The shaft generator device adopts low-speed, shaft-through synchronous power generation technology and incorporates self-developed control strategy, which makes up for the shortage in the field of domestic high-power low-speed engine shaft and realizes the key technology and core components to be completely independent and controllable.

This shaft generator is widely used in large cargo vessels, oil tankers, container ships, offshore vessels and other types of ships, which can improve the fuel efficiency of the main engine, extend the life of the main engine, reduce the maintenance cost of the main and auxiliary engines, with good economy, and improve the EEXI, EEDI, CII indexes, and the EPL limit value.
