CCS awards AIP certificate to CSDC’s 18,000m³ ammonia bunkering carrier

On September 2nd, China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) organized the “Hamburg Green Ship Reception 2024” before the SMM in Hamburg, Germany. As a pioneer in ammonia-fueled design of CSSC, Mr. Liu Shuyang, Deputy Director of Product R&D Department of China Ship Design & Research Center Co., Ltd, (CSDC), was invited to give a speech on “Ammonia-Fueled Ship Design”, which demonstrated the green ambition of China’s shipbuilding industry.

Mr. Liu Shuyang deeply analyzed the development path of low carbon fuel and led the industry forward. Relying on the rich experience in the design of ammonia-fueled oil tankers, ore carriers and bulk carriers, the impact of ammonia fuel on ship design is elaborated from various aspects, especially in response to the safety concerns of shipowners, and the relevant design considerations are introduced in detail from multiple perspectives.

CSDC is not only an explorer of technology, but also a provider of China’s solutions for green shipbuilding, CSDC has demonstrated to the world China’s firm pace and excellent achievements in green shipping with practical actions.

During the SMM trade fair, CSDC and CCS cooperated in the research and development of 18,000m³ ammonia bunkering carriers, and CCS has issued an AIP certificate to CSDC for an 18,000m³ ammonia bunkering carrier.
