Saipem Wins 2 Offshore Contracts Worth $1 Billion

Italian offshore giant Saipem has been awarded two offshore contracts in Saudi Arabia worth a total of about $1 billion under an existing long-term agreement with Saudi Aramco.

Specifically, Saipem will provide services for the Marjan field, including engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of three production deck modules, 33 kilometers of subsea rigid pipelines with 12-inch and 16-inch diameters, and 34 kilometers of subsea power cables.

Saipem will also provide services for the EPCI for the Zuluf and Safaniyah fields, including three jackets, five production deck modules, 22 kilometers of 16-inch diameter subsea rigid pipelines, 5 kilometers of subsea flexible pipeline and 35 kilometers of subsea cable.

For the offshore component of both contracts, Saipem will deploy its offshore construction vessels operating in the region and the related equipment manufacturing will be carried out at Saipem Taqa Al-Rushaid Fabricators in Saudi Arabia.

It is understood that the above 2 offshore contracts with a total value of $1 billion are the second deal Saipem has recently concluded with Saudi Aramco.

In July this year, Saudi Aramco awarded Saipem offshore contracts worth a total of $500 million for the provision of services to its Abu Safa, Berri and Manifa fields, namely the EPCI of approximately 50 kilometers of crude oil trunkline at the Abu Safa field and production maintenance at the Berri and Manifa fields.
