Wah Kwong placed an order for two 114,000 DWT product tankers at Hengli Heavy Industries

Recently, Hengli Group and Wah Kwong Transport Holdings Ltd. (Wah Kwong) held a grand signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation agreement and two 114,000 DWT product tankers in Hong Kong, which was the first time for the two companies to join hands and formally open a new milestone in strategic cooperation.

Under the agreement, Hengli Group and Wah Kwong will give full play to their respective advantages, jointly promote the internationalization and professional development of shipbuilding and shipping-related businesses, and carry out active cooperation around shipping and their respective related industries.

The two 114,000 DWT product tankers signed this time have an overall length of 248.8 meters, a beam of 44.0 meters, a design draught of 13.5 meters, a structural draught of 15.0 meters, with a design service speed of about 14.5 knots and an endurance of 25,000 nautical miles. It meets the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) TIER III emission standards and the energy efficiency design index (EEDI) Phase III requirements.

At present, the first phase of production and manufacturing in Hengli Heavy Industries Park is in full swing, and the construction of the second phase of the project is being accelerated, with an expected annual processing capacity of 2.3 million tons of steel and an annual production of 180 engines after reaching full production. With the continuous release of industrial park capacity, the market is also expanding.

This signing of the order for product oil tanker is another step of Wah Kwong into the product oil tanker construction market after many years, and also another breakthrough of Hengli Heavy Industries in the field of ship construction.
