JMU to Build 3 Suezmax Tankers for Nereus Shipping

Greek shipowner CM Lemos, through its subsidiary Nereus Shipping, signed a contract with Japan Marine United (JMU) for the construction of three 158,600 dwt Suezmax tankers.

Data from the fleet list on Nereus Shipping’s official website shows that all three new tankers are expected to be delivered in 2027.In addition to the three newbuildings from JMU, Nereus Shipping will also take delivery of three 109,999 dwt LR2 tankers in 2025.

Nereus Shipping, whose corporate history dates back to the late 19th century, is dedicated to providing high-end services to the tanker and bulk carrier markets, according to its official website.

Excluding the six newbuildings, the company currently has a fleet of 14 vessels, all Greek-flagged, to be built and delivered between 2010 and 2023, consists of 11 tankers and three bulk carriers.
