In August 2024, CHN Energy Shipping Company took delivery of the vessel “Guojia Nengyuan 822” which was built by China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, 16 months ahead of the contract period.
“Guojia Nengyuan 822” is a 85,000 DWT bulk carrier “WHALE” independently researched and designed by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong, which is the main product built by the company and has formed the advantage of batch construction.
After the first 85,000 DWT bulk carrier was delivered more than a year ahead of schedule and performed quite well, CSSC Huangpu Wenchong practiced lean management and made a new breakthrough again. Compared with the first vessel, “Guojia Nengyuan 822” construction time efficiency has been improved by more than 5%, and the cycle of each key node has been shortened.
It is reported that CSSC Huangpu Wenchong has delivered 10 “Whale” 85,000 DWT bulk carriers.
