SC Shipping (Shanghai) welcomed a 11,300 dwt stainless steel chemical tanker

On August 28th, SC Shipping (Shanghai) welcomed the 11,300 dwt stainless steel chemical tanker “Bi Wu” which was built by Chuandong Shipbuilding, which was delivered half a month ahead of the contract period.

Classed by CCS, “Bi Wu” has an overall length of 131.7 meters, a beam of 20.2 meters, under the Chinese flag. Suitable for global voyage, the chemical tanker meets Tier III emission requirements and obtains G-EP (GPR), which is a new generation of high-end stainless steel chemical tanker with leading technology and green environmental protection.

From 2004 to 2010, Chuandong Shipbuilding successively built and delivered 6 stainless steel chemical tankers of 3,000 dwt to 9,000 dwt for SC Shipping (Shanghai), which opened the precedent of building 10,000 dwt vessels in Southwest China. In August 2022, Chuandong Shipbuilding and SC Shipping (Shanghai) signed a contract for the construction of two 11,300 DWT stainless steel chemical tankers.

SC Shipping (Shanghai), Co., Ltd established in 1994. Company in its 30 years of development, currently operates 82 ships of 3000-40000 tons, with a total 1.14 million tons DWT and an annual carrying volume of more than 10 million tons. Its business ranges from coastal routes for China’s domestic trade to global routes linking India, the Middle East, Europe, North America and South America, carrying over a hundred types of goods, including MDI/TDI, PO, phenol, MEG, BASE OIL, PALM OIL, biodiesel, etc. It is the largest bulk-liquid chemical shipowner in China and the only Chinese bulk-liquid chemical shipowner engaged in global routes.
