On August 27th, the 4th of the series of 3,000 TEU feeder containership “EVER VERA” built by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding for Taiwan-based liner giant Evergreen Marine was delivered and left the shipyard on the same day, which was delivered more than 4 months ahead of the contract period.
Huangpu Wencong said that during the construction of this series of ships, it took advantage of batch construction and actively implemented lean production to realize rhythmic construction, which once again proves Huangpu Wencong’s excellent strength as the world’s best feeder containership builder.
“EVER VERA” is independently developed by Huangpu Wenchong. The containership is equipped with desulfurization equipment, complete low-sulfur fuel supply system, AMP shore power winch system, and a series of energy-saving and environmental friendly technologies, such as the latest drag-reducing anti-fouling coatings, etc.
With the application of these technologies, it can significantly reduce energy consumption and emissions during operation, which meets the current requirements of the global shipping industry for green and low-carbon development, making it a high-quality and high-performance feeder containership.
The shipowner, Evergreen Marine, is currently ranked among the top 10 shipping companies in the world. The cooperation between Huangpu Wencong and Evergreen Marine began in 2021 by signing an order for a total of 24 containerships of three types. Up to now, Huangpu Wenchong has delivered 9 ships to Evergreen Marine. Except for the “Ever Vera” which has just been delivered, the first 8 ships have been performing well in the owner’s operation.
Evergreen Marine has signed a new order with Huangpu Wenchong for the construction of six 2,400 TEU methanol dual-fuel containerships this year, based on the recognition of the shipyard’s technical strength and construction quality. It is reported that Evergreen Marine has ordered more than 40 ships in China, and believes that China’s shipbuilding technology has been on a par with Japan, South Korea and other traditional shipbuilding powerhouses.
