CCS greenlights Qiyao Power’s MR reliquefaction plant for LNG carriers

Recently, the first domestic LNG onboard mixed refrigerant reliquefaction plant (MR reliquefaction plant) which was independently developed by Micro Prower has completed a number of performance tests and verifications, such as key mode operation and variable operating conditions, and has successfully passed the product survey of China Classification Society (CCS).

It is reported that the MR reliquefaction plant, as the key core cryogenic equipment on LNG carriers and LNG bunkering vessels, cools the LNG boil-off gas (BOG) step by step to -162℃ and then liquefies and sends it back to the liquid cargo tank, which avoids the economic loss and environmental protection caused by the direct discharge of BOG, and also guarantees the stability and safety of the pressure in the liquid cargo tank.

n order to realize the localization and application of MR reliquefaction plant, Qiyao Power, together with Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, CAS, focuses on the key technologies. After years of joint research, Qiyao Power has developed various types of liquefaction products such as marine LNG re-liquefaction device etc.

At present, the company has realized 100% independent control of high-end cryogenic equipment, and has the ability to supply in batch, successively obtaining orders for MR reliquefaction plant and other products, breaking through the long-term monopoly of foreign companies on high-end cryogenic equipment for marine use.
