China’s First Hydrogen Fuel Cell Marine Transportation Vessel Successfully Launched

On August 25, China’s first hydrogen fuel cell marine transportation vessel – “Lihu Weilai” was launched at the dock of Dalian Maritime University.

It is understood that “Lihu Weilai” marine transportation ship is jointly designed by Dalian Maritime University and Dalian ECO Marine. And, it was supplied complete hydrogen powertrain system and built by Dalian ECO Marine.

The vessel, which kicked off construction in September 2023, is of all aluminum alloy construction, with an overall length of 20.5 meters, a beam of 5.2 meters. With a crew of 20, it is equipped with 2 sets of 110kw-rated hydrogen fuel cells as the main power source and can achieve a maximum range of 200 nautical miles.

In addition, the vessel is built with self-developed hydrogen-free engine room and other advanced technologies.
