MSC and Hengli Heavy Industries enter strategic agreement

On August 23, Hengli Heavy Industries Group and Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Geneva, Switzerland, in which the two sides will carry out all-round cooperation in the fields of new shipbuilding, supporting engines, ship repair, retrofitting and other business areas.

According to the agreement, Hengli Heavy Industries Group and MSC will give full play to their respective advantages on the principles of voluntariness, equality and mutual benefit, establish a long-term and stable strategic cooperative partnership and realize common development.

Since the full operation of Hengli Heavy Industries, the production level and efficiency have been continuously improved, and the production capacity has been continuously released.

The second phase of Hengli Heavy Industries project has been officially started in the middle of this month, which focuses on the manufacturing of high value-added green ships and high-end offshore equipment, such as very large oil tankers, very large liquefied gas carriers (VLGC), very large container ships, FPSOs, offshore floating wind power, drilling platforms, etc., so as to build a modernized, intelligent and green first-class manufacturing base for ships and offshore equipment manufacturing Industrial base.

After fully put into operation, Hengli Heavy Industries expects to process 2.3 million tons of steel annually, produce 180 engines, and realize full coverage of four types of dual-fuel engines, namely, LNG, LPG, methanol, and ammonia.
