Norwegian chemical tanker owner and operator Odfjell has announced that it has expanded its fleet by ordering two chemical tankers through long-term charter agreements.
The 2 new vessels are expected to be delivered in 2027 and 2028. Together with the latest order, Odfjell’s total newbuilding orderbook has reached 17 units, built by Chinese and Japanese shipyards, accounting for about 20% of the total orderbook for its core deep sea business.
In addition to booking new vessels, Odfjell took delivery of the 25,877 dwt chemical tanker Bow Jaguar (built 2024) in the second quarter of this year, which is under a long-term charter.
Headquartered in Bergen, Odfjell is said to have a fleet of about 70 vessels.In the second quarter of this year, the company made a record profit of $88 million with time charter proceeds amounted to $215 million.
