Sanfu Shipbuilding Delivers Two 3,500 TEU Containerships

On August 22, Taizhou Sanfu Shipbuilding named two 3,500 TEU dual-fuel (LNG+MGO) container sister ships built for German shipowners, and at the same time held a signing and delivery ceremony for these two first containerships in the series.

Classed by DNV, the containership has an overall length of 248.00 meters, a beam of 35.20 meters, a depth of 19.2 meters and a design draft of 11.00 meters. Its maximum deadweight tonnage is 51,000 tons, and it can carry up to 3,666 TEU containers with a design speed of 19.5 knots.

It is reported that this series of 3,500 TEU dual-fuel containerships is designed by German HBHUNTE design company and adopts bow type arrangement.

The main engine adopts MAN B&W7S70ME-C10.5 GI HPSCR, and the main fuel is LNG and MGO. The containership adopts double C type vertical LNG tanks for the first time, which is the world’s largest oboard vertical gas tank up to now.

It can carry more than 1,000 refrigerated containers and is equipped with a refrigerated monitoring system. The EEDI index meets and exceeds the latest industry standards, and its environmental performance far exceeds the current standards.

It is understood that after the successful conclusion of the naming ceremony, the first built ship “SEABOARD VOYAGER” will start its maiden voyage.
