Southeast Shipyard Successfully Steel Cut For Two 18,500DWT IMO II Taker

On August 20th and 21st, Fujian Southeast Shipyard Co., Ltd (Southeast Shipyard), a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Corporation held steel cutting ceremony for two 18,500DWT IMO II takers (HULL No.DN517-4/5) one after another.

This taker has an overall length of 149.8 meters, a beam of 22.8 meters, a depth of 12.7 meters and a design draft of 8.5 meters.

The takers will be mainly used to transport refined oil products, vegetable oils and bulk chemicals (Class II and Class III) with flash point ≤60℃ which meets the requirements of IBC specification, featuring shallow draught and large cabin capacity, and meeting the requirements of unlimited navigable area.

The tankers adopts methanol dual-fuel ready design concept to meet IMO Tier III emission standards, and can be converted and upgraded to run on clean energy methanol fuel in the future.
