Recently, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd (CIMC SOE) has successfully signed and delivered the first built “SEASPAN GARIBALDI”, which is a 7,600 cbm LNG bunkering vessel for Seaspan Energy.
It is reported that there are three LNG bunkering vessels in this series, and the remaining two sister vessels will be delivered one after another by the end of 2024. The vessel is designed with an overall length of 112.8 meters, a beam of 18.6 meters, a design draft of 5.1 meters, with a storage capacity of 7,600 cbm and a design speed of 13 knots.Classed by BV, the vessel is flying the Panama flag as well as meeting the requirements of the Canadian flag state.
The vessel adopts advanced DC power distribution system for the first time, equipped with 3 sets of dual-fuel generators for power supply and 2 sets of 1,600KW full-swing electric propellers to provide thrust.
Moreover, it also reserves battery installation space and is committed to providing a full range of LNG handling and refueling services, with both high economic and environmental benefits, which can help shipowners achieve the IMO2030 emission reduction targets.
“SEASPAN GARIBALDI” was started at the beginning of February last year and launched at the end of December the same year. The vessel will soon sail to the Northwest Pacific Coast, becoming the first LNG bunkering vessel in North America for owner Seaspan Energy.
The successful delivery of “SEASPAN GARIBALDI” represents the first time that CIMC SOE’s small and medium-sized LNG vessels have successfully entered the North American market. With the successive commissioning of this series of vessels, CIMC SOE will continue to provide efficient and environmental friendly LNG refueling services to the global shipping industry.
