Beihai Shipbuilding set to build 120,000-ton Floating Dock

On August 19, China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (Beihai Shipbuilding) held a steel cutting ceremony for the 120,000-ton Bahamas Floating Dock Project.

It is reported that the floating dock is designed with total length of 413.96 meters, dock wall spacing of 68 meters, dock wall height of 18.4 meters, and it equipped with automatic dock control system, which can realize automatic floating or sinking of the dock. With a design lifting capacity of 120,000 tons, it is the largest floating dock constructed by Beihai Shipbuilding so far.

In recent years, Beihai Shipbuilding has been actively expanding the field of offshore industry, and has undertaken 55,000 tons, 70,000 tons, 100,000 tons, 93,500 tons and 120,000 tons of floating vessels, accumulating rich experience in construction, and achieving the “double enhancement” of the construction tonnage and construction capacity, which has boosted and gathered strength for Beihai Shipbuilding to become a world-renowned ship and offshore enterprise.
