Dashenzhou Shipbuilding kicked off construction for 2 vessels

On August 16th, Zhoushan Dashenzhou Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (Dashenzhou Shipbuilding) held steel cutting ceremony for a 7,500 m3 LEG carrier and a 13,000 DWT duplex stainless steel chemical tanker.

It is reported that the 7,500 m3 LEG carrier is designed by Marine Design and Research Institute of China (MARIC), classed by CCS and owned by Dalian Surui Shipping, with unlimited navigation area. It has an overall length of about 115 meters, a beam of 19.4 meters and a depth of 10.6 meters, with a service speed of 14.5 knots, which can carry two kinds of cargoes at the same time.

The owner of 13,000DWT duplex stainless steel chemical tanker is Hongtong Shipping, and this is the first unit in a series of 4 tankers. Designed by Shanghai ALSEN MARITIME, it is a class II&III chemical tanker, with unlimited navigation area.

Classed by BV, the chemical tanker has an overall length of about 129.99 meters, a beam of 22 meters, a depth of 11.8 meters, a service speed of 13.5 knots, which meets the notation of “Methanol Ready” and can carry 16 kinds of cargoes at the same time.

Dashenzhou Shipbuilding said that since it was acquired by a new shareholder structure formed by Wuzhou Shipbuilding Industry’s major shareholder Pan Xuejian in January 2024, the shipyard’s operation, technology and production are in line with Wuzhou Shipbuilding Industry’s original team, and that it will continue to develop its product lines, such as gas carriers and chemical tankers.
