On August 15, Lianyungang Hongyun Industry, a subsidiary of Port of Lianyungang Group, and Shenzhen Da Chan Bay Tugboat Co., Ltd. formally signed a contract on “5000 HP pure electric tugboat construction project”.
It is reported that the Shenzhen Port 5000 hp pure electric tugboat has an overall length of 36.5 meters, a beam of 10.5 meters and a depth of 4.8 meters. Scheduled to be built in 10 months, the tugboat will be equipped with a battery capacity of 6,880 kWh, a design speed of not less than 12.5 knots, a bollard towing capacity of more than 60 tons.
The tugboat has been awarded the Smart Ship Additional Notations – “Intelligent Cabin i-Ship (M)”, “Intelligent Energy Efficiency Management i-Ship (E)” and “Intelligent Integration Platform i-Ship (I)”.
The cooperation between the two sides has a long history, in August 2021, Port of Lianyungang delivered “Yungang Diantuo No 1”, and in November 2023, Port of Lianyungang delivered “Yungang Diantuo No 2”.
