Zhoushan Xinya Shipyard to Repair first overseas LNG carrier since its establishment

On August 14, Zhoushan Xinya Shipyard announced that the first LNG carrier(K.ACACIA)from overseas Market for repair at Xinya Company, was successfully moored to berth No.1.

The LNG carrier (K.ACACIA) owned by the Korean company KLCSM was successfully moored to Berth No.1. This will be the first overseas LNG carrier that Xinya Company has undertaken to repair since its establishment.

K.ACACIA is a membrane-type LNG carrier, with a total length of 277 meters and a width of 43 meters. It has been in service for over 20 years and has a cargo tank capacity of 135,000 cubic meters.

It is learned that the cargo tank will be inspected this time, as well as disassembly and inspection of multiple equipment such as cryogenic valve, cargo pump, spray pump, HD compressor, LD compressor, HP turbine, and LP turbine etc. The entire project is expected to take 28 days.

Due to the significantly higher safety control requirements for LNG carriers compared to other types of vessels, the current project presents a greater level of difficulty and demands higher standards. Xinya attaches great importance and approaches it with scientific coordination. The LNG carrier repair manager team has developed a comprehensive and detailed construction plan in advance to ensure the safe, timely, and high-quality completion of the repair.
