Chuandong Shipbuilding Industry completed sea trial of 11,300 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker

On August 7, the #2 11,300 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker, which is built by CChongqing Chuandong Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd, (Chuandong Shipbuilding Industry) a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) for Shanghai Gentco Logistics, completed a 6-day sea voyage test and returned.

This 11,300 DWT chemical tanker has an overall length of 131.7m, beam of 20.2m, depth of 10.5m and structural draught of 7.7m with a deadweight of 11,300 tons. The stainless steel chemical tanker is designed to sail at 13.5 knots, classed by CCS and flagged in China.

The internal surface of the cargo hold is made of 2205 duplex stainless steel, making it a product oil/chemical tanker suitable for global voyage. It meets Tier III emission requirements and obtains G-EP (GPR), which is a new generation of high-end stainless steel chemical tanker with leading technology and green environmental protection.

During the trial voyage, all the performance indexes of the chemical tanker met or exceeded the expectation, and the performance and installation quality of the equipments onboard were good. All the voyage test tasks were completed one day earlier than planned on August 8, which was highly praised by the shipowner’s inspection and laid a solid foundation for the completion and delivery of the chemical tanker.
