On August 9, CSSC-MES Diesel Co.,Ltd. (CMD), a subsidiary of CSSC Power (Group) Corporation Ltd. (CPGC) successfully passed factory acceptance test (FAT) of the first 7G80ME-C10.5-GI-HPSCR dual-fuel engine in China. The engine will be installed on a 309,000 DWT tanker to be built by Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co Ltd. (DACKS) for ship owner MOL.
The 7G80ME-C10.5-GI-HPSCR dual-fuel engine adopts the latest GI mk2 gas system design of MAN ES and realizes the Gas Cylinder Cutting Operation (GCCO) technology for the first time, a breakthrough that allows the engine to operate in single-cylinder fuel oil while the rest of the cylinders run in gas mode in an efficient and safe manner.
The engine is equipped with the HPSCR (High Pressure Selective Catalytic Reduction) system independently developed by CPGC to meet Tier III emission requirements, demonstrating its advantages in high performance, environmental protection, safety and reliability.
In recent years, relying on CPGC’s complete product lifecycle management system of developing (testing), constructing and servicing, CMD has actively expanded the development of new dual-fuel engines, including methanol and ammonia, to further consolidate its leading position in the construction of dual-fuel engines.
