Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Announces H1 2024 Results, with a net profit of $430 million

On August 12, listed company Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings) Ltd. announced its financial results for the first half of the 2024 year. For the first half of the year, China’s largest private shipbuilder reported a net profit of RMB 3.1 billion ($430 million) and received new orders for 79 ships (worth about $8.48 billion), with hand-held orders reaching 224 ships (worth about $20.17 billion).

The key performance indicators for the first half of 2024, according to the announcement:

In the first half of 2024, total revenue of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group increased by 15.3% year-on-year to RMB13 billion ( $1.81 billion), with the core shipbuilding segment contributing 95.0% of total sales.

The hand-held order structure is rich in ship types, including 89 container ships, 47 bulk carriers, 24 gas carriers of various types and 64 tankers, with clean energy ships accounting for about 70% of the total order book.

Revenue from the shipping segment rose 13.5% year-on-year to RMB604 million ($84 million).
