Wuchang Shipbuilding delivered an oil spill recovery vessel ahead of schedule

Recently, China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Wuchang Shipbuilding formally delivered the largest oil spill recovery vessel (OSRV) “Haixun 041” to Hebei Maritime Bureau, one month ahead of the contractual delivery date.

“Haixun 041” is the largest vessel invested by Hebei Maritime Bureau since its establishment. With an overall length of 79 meters, a beam of 15 meters and a depth of 5.6 meters, the OSRV is designed for far-sea navigation area, with a range of 3,000 nautical miles and a self endurance of 20 days.

It has the functions of oil spill recovery, emergency watch and comprehensive command, equipped with advanced communication equipment and informationization platform, which can undertake the on-site comprehensive command function in the event of a major waterborne oil spill accident.

Equipped with sufficient oil spill equipment and materials, “Haixun 041” can recover 200 cubic meters of oil spill per hour, with a capacity of 1,100 cubic meters, and has the ability to control, recover, store and transfer oil spill on the surface of the water.

It can carry out emergency watch on sensitive waters, perform oil spill surveillance and monitoring, accident investigation and evidence collection, oil spill practical training and other tasks, which is the indispensable backbone of Hebei Maritime Bureau’s oil spill emergency disposal work.
