On August 8, Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (SHGSIC) under Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation(DSIC) held a naming and delivery ceremony of the second 7100TEU container ship (C7100-8) built for the Greek ship owner Danaos Shipping Co. And the container ship was named “INTERASIA AMPLIFY”.
This 7100TEU container ship is a new generation of DSIC’s own brand ship type with high market competitiveness. With an overall length of about 255 meters and a beam of 42.8 meters, the ship has a maximum loading capacity of 7,165 TEU, and adopts conventional fuel with a design speed of 20 knots, which is characterized by good portability and seakeeping, and a flexible range of applications.
Classed by ABS, the container ship adopts hidden bulbous bow, equipped with bow thruster, and the stern is equipped with twisted rudder and rudder ball, which is excellent in maneuverability and quickness indexes. With the “Methanol Fuel Ready Level 2D(S)” class notation, the ship is a new-generation medium-sized container ship that combines energy-saving, environmental protection, and excellent cargo-carrying performance.
It is reported that “INTERASIA AMPLIFY” took a total of 78 days from launching to sea trial, which is 22% shorter than the previous ships. The ship scored 97.8 points for completeness of the trial voyage. Its fuel consumption, vibration, noise and other technical performance indicators meet the design requirements, and are highly praised by the ship owner and ship inspector.
