Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Delivers Two Containerships Ahead of Schedule

On July 31, Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), delivered the batch built 1,600 TEU feeder containership “CA MANILA” (H2485) and a 2,300 TEU feeder containership (H2449). Both containerships were delivered more than 100 days earlier than the contract period.

“CA MANILA” (H2485) is another testimony of cooperation between Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding and CA SHIPPING. It is 166.95m in length, 27.50m in breadth, 14.50m in depth, 8.5m in design draft, with design speed of 16.95 knots. It can carry 1,640 TEUs, with a 14-ton deadweight of 1,250 TEUs, and a fully loaded deadweight of 23,700 tons, which meets EEDI2. It is an energy-saving and environmentally friendly feeder containership with a large deadweight, which meets the operational requirements of the Southeast Asia route.

Classed by ABS, the 2300TEU feeder containership has an overall length of 172.0 meters, a beam of 32.20 meters, a depth of 17.0 meters, with a deadweight of 27,900 tons, a design speed of 19.5 knots, and an endurance of 11,000 nautical miles.

It is equipped with desulphurization equipment, as well as a complete low-sulphur fuel oil supply system and an AMP shore power winch system. In addition, it adopts a series of energy-saving and environmentally friendly technologies such as the latest drag-reducing anti-fouling paints, and has been awarded the Classification Society’s Cyber Security Notation of CS-SYSTEM, which is a masterpiece in creating a safe consolidation service for customers.

It is understood that Huangpu Wenchong handheld orders for feeder containerships ranks in the top of the world, and the technical performance, environmental indicators and reliability requirements of the two types of ships have reached the world’s first-class level.
