SWS delivers a 7000 TEU containership to T.S.LINES

On July 30th, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), and China Shipbuilding Trading Co. Ltd (CSTC) completed the signing and delivery of the fifth 7,000 TEU containership “KOTA CALLAO” built for T.S. LINES.

“KOTA CALLAO” is classed by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK). The containership has an overall length of 272 meters, a beam of 42.8 meters, a depth of 24.6 meters, a design draft of 13 meters, with a design speed of 21.0 kn. It adopts MAN 6G80ME-C10.5 main engine and meets TIER Ⅲ specification.

It is worth mentioning that the containership has achieved the outstanding performance of completing weighing in 32 days and having sea trial in 40 days after launched, which created the record of the fastest sea trial since launched for SWS.

As of July 2024, SWS has delivered a total of 17 newbuildings, achieving more than 77% of its annual target in terms of the number of newbuildings delivered. The ship types delivered include one 114,000 DWT Aframax product tanker, two 190,000 DWT dual-fuel bulk carriers and 14 7,000 TEU container ships.
