Xiangchuan Shipbuilding Industry launched a 55-meter pleasure yacht

On July 26, Hunan Xiangchuan Shipbuilding Industry (Xiangchuan Shipbuilding Industry), a subsidiary of Changsha State Owned Holding Group, successfully held the launching ceremony of a 55-meter pleasure yacht.

This is the first superyacht built by Xiangchuan Shipbuilding Industry, classed by RINA, under Panama flag. After delivery, it will sail mainly in the Mediterranean Sea, the Caribbean Sea, Persia, the Red Sea and other seas, with an unlimited navigation area.

The yacht adopts a fully steel and welded structure, with a total length of 55 meters, a width of 10.5 meters, a total tonnage of 1081, a speed of 13.5 knots. It is equipped with dual engines and twin propellers, and the power system is designed according to the requirements of an unmanned engine room, meeting the 24-hour unmanned duty requirements.

The yacht, which kicked off construction on November 11, 2022, cost nearly RMB 100 million and is expected to be delivered to Europe by the end of this year, owned by Greece’s Akron Group (Akron Group).

As a shipbuilder with a history of 79 years, with more than 40 national patents and the first provincial-level technology center in Hunan Province, Xiangchuan Shipbuilding Industry has mastered a number of core technologies such as high-efficiency propellers, which cover a wide range of products, from barges to high-value-added yachts, and continues to undergo restructuring and upgrading to meet the market demand.

Shipowner Akron Group is a renowned international oil transportation and ship management company with core businesses around the world. Its Akron Trading (Shanghai) has successfully built more than 30 vessels of various types. The 55-meter superyacht is the group’s first foray into the yacht industry and marks a significant step in the expansion of its business.
