COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Dalian) Delivers a 77,000 DWT Multi-Purpose Pulp Vessel

On July 25th, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Dalian) held a delivery and christening ceremony of GREEN ITAJAI, a 77,000 DWT multi-purpose pulp vessel built for CMB Financal Leasing. It is the 8th 77,000 DWT multi-purpose pulp vessel delivered by COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Dalian) and is currently the largest specialized pulp carrier in the world.

“GREEN ITAJAI” has an overall length of 225.00 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters, a depth of 21.00 meters with a design speed of 15 knots. The cargo hold is well sealed and dry, which can fully guarantee the quality and safety of pulp cargo transportation.

Moreover, the multi-purpose pulp vessel has upgraded the function of loading “special frame for collapsible commercial vehicles” and added “one-to-one” temperature monitoring and early warning system for new energy vehicles, so that it can safely transport new energy vehicles while safely carrying imported pulp in high quality, helping the domestic new energy vehicle to go to the sea in large quantities.

In addition, the vessel is of extremely strong cargo hold suitability, which can also transport a variety of cargoes such as high-speed rail trains, wind power equipment, large machinery and equipment, and ultra-long and ultra-heavy steel pipe pile structures.

The pollutant NOx emission of this series of vessels meets the highest requirements of international conventions (Tier III), the vibration and noise meet the requirements of Rules for Green Eco-Ships, which is newly effective by China Classification Society (CCS), while the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) of the vessels far exceeds the requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Phase III.

It is reported that the first voyage of “GREEN ITAJAI” will be the South America East Route, shipping containers and new energy vehicles and other goods from domestic ports to Brazil.
