On July 24, Jiangnan Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), officially delivered the second 7,600 CEU LNG dual-fuel ocean-going PCTC (pure car and track carrier) of the series built for SAIC Anji Logistics. The PCTC was named “SAIC Anji Splendor”.
It is understood that “SAIC Anji Splendor” is the second clean energy Ro-Ro vessel invested by Chinese shipowners in China and ranks first in terms of loading capacity with “SAIC Anji Sincerity”.
Classed by DNV and CCS, the PCTC is 199.9 meters in length overall, 38 meters in breadth, 15.5 meters in depth, 10.2 meters in structural draught, with a service speed of 19 knots, which is a neo-Panamax car carrier in line with the latest international emission rules. Designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI) and built by Jiangnan Shipbuilding, this series of PCTCs owns completely independent intellectual property rights and adopts dual-fuel power design, which is characterized by high emission cleanliness, low fuel consumption, flexible operation, convenient maintenance and strong profitability.
Meanwhile, the PCTC is of LNG dual-fuel, low-carbon and environmentally friendly, new type of car carrier with 7,600 vehicle spaces, which is in line with the ESG development concept, and is the mainstream vessel in international ocean-going.
As the sister vessel of “SAIC Anji Sincerity”, it is also the largest professional automobile ro-ro vessel in the international ro-ro fleet owned by Chinese shipowners, and will be integrated into the European route, increasing the annual capacity of the route by about 30,000 vehicles.
The delivery of “SAIC Anji Splendor” marks the perfect completion of the 7,600 CEU PCTCs construction of Jiangnan Shipbuilding. It is worth mentioning that Jiangnan Shipbuilding will welcome a new chapter of the 7800 CEU LNG dual-fuel ocean-going PCTC series in the near future.
