HD Hyundai Mipo delivered four LNG dual-fuel powered feeder containerships

South Korean shipbuilder HD Hyundai Mipo has delivered four new 2,862 TEU liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel powered feeder containerships named “C/V Acastos”, “C/V Adonis”, “C/V Anaxagoras”, and “C/V Acheloos”, to Capital-Executive Ship Management, a provider of ship management and maritime services.

With a capacity of 2,862 TEUs, the containerships are equipped with single-tier lashing bridges for increased stacking weight and 604 refrigerated containers.the containerships are designed with an optimized hull and integrates smart ship technology to increase energy efficiency and minimize environmental impact.

Meanwhile, they are equipped with an advanced navigation system that contributes to safe navigation. In addition, the bow thruster power is increased for safe operation. Finally, they are equipped with an intelligent CCTV system to enhance the safety of crew and cargo by displaying information in enhanced reality images.

According to the company, the new vessels are also fitted with alternative marine power (AMP) and sulphur oxide (SOx) exhaust gas cleaning systems and can be converted to use LNG in the future.

Currently, Capital-Executive Ship Management operates a fleet of 36 vessels, including 27 containerships and 9 bulk carriers, with a total carrying capacity of 2.52 million tons and 111,320 TEUs. The fleet under management includes vessels owned by NASDAQ-listed Capital Product Partners.
