Recently, the container ship “YM ESSENCE” belonging to Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. underwent a 10-year of special inspection and repair project at COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Guangdong).
In this round of special inspection and repair, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Guangdong) completed all the works of the container ship, including installation of desulphurization system, overhaul of the main engine, boiler repair, descaling and coating of cargo hold hatch covers, descaling and coating of the deck living area, etc.
It is understood that the completeness of prefabrication of “YM ESSENCE” desulphurization sub-section reached 95%. In the prefabrication stage, the project team completed the segment equipment cable pulling and Wiring engineering in advance.
On the 10th day of the container ship’s arrival, the project team successfully completed the lifting of the desulfurization segment; on 25th day, the project team completed the installation of the desulfurization system and handed it over to the equipment manufacturer for commissioning; On the 32nd day, the project team completed all the repair works, and successfully completed all the sea trial projects on the day of sailing.The container ship started sailing three days ahead of schedule.
