CMJL (Weihai) delivers second 7,000 CEU dual-fuel PCTC to EPS

On July 22nd, China Merchants Jingling Shipyard (Weihai) Co. Ltd. CMJL (Weihai) delivered “CMA CGM SILVERSTONE”, the second 7,000 CEU dual-fuel PCTC (pure car and track carrier) built for Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) of Singapore.

As the second 7,000 CEU dual-fuel PCTC built by CMJL (Weihai), the project team summarized the construction experience of the first PCTC, strengthened the control on the process of sheet metal precision, segment erection, segment coating, etc., and completed the production nodes on schedule with the full cooperation and support from the shipowner and the Classification Society. The first PCTC was delivered on December 20, 2023.

This PCTC is 199.9 meters in length, 38 meters in breadth, 8.6 meters in design draft and 19 knots in speed. The PCTC is fitted with a total of 12 cargo decks, divided into fixed and movable ones, which improves cargo loading and unloading efficiency and enhances the operational economic efficiency of the PCTC.

The power system adheres to the design concept of green energy saving and environmental protection, adopting high-pressure dual-fuel system, equipped with two 2,000 m³ LNG tanks, shaft generator and lithium battery hybrid propulsion system, as well as photovoltaic system and many other environmental protection technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet the requirements of the International Maritime Organization TIER III emission standards, which has significant energy-saving, eco-friendly and high-efficiency advantages.
