CIMC SOE christened and delivered a 7,200 m³ dual-fuel LEG carrier

On July 19th, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (CIMC SOE) successfully held a christening ceremony for “Gaschem Alster” (S1064), a 7,200m3 dual-fuel liquefied ethylene gas (LEG) carrier designed and built for the Hartmann Group of Germany.

As a new green ship, LEG carrier has been attracting a lot of attention in the shipping industry in recent years. The LEG carrier “GASCHEM ALSTER”, which was named and delivered this time, adopts a dual-fuel main engine, which not only meets the latest emission requirements, but also significantly reduces carbon dioxide emissions during transportation, reflecting its advantages in environmental protection.

With the increasingly stringent environmental regulations, the demand for clean energy vessels is increasing. LEG carrier, as a kind of clean energy transportation tool, will play an important role in the subsequent development of green shipping due to its environmental protection, economic and technological advantages.
