CSSC 704 Research Institute Wins Contract for Offshore Equipments

Recently, CSSC 704 Research Institute signed a contract with Jiangsu Dayang Offshore Equipment (DYOE) for the gantry retracting and releasing system of the 15,000-ton multi-purpose cable construction vessel and three types of cranes. This is another order for deck machinery in the field of offshore engineering taken by CSSC 704 Research Institute after “Fenghua 21” cable-laying vessel and “Fenghua 23” multi-functional service operation vessel (SOV), marking a solid step forward in this field for CSSC 704 Research Institute.

The 15,000-ton multi-purpose cable construction vessel is invested by Huaxia Financial Leasing and DYOE, a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC), which is responsible for the construction of this vessel. CSSC 704 Research Institute provides the gantry retracting and releasing system, which is mainly used for stowage of cable laying equipments and lifting of large heavy objects.

This system is the key equipment of the whole vessel, which mainly consists of gantry, take-up winch, towing winch, auxiliary winch, etc. Through effective system integration, it can support safe cable laying operation under complicated working conditions, and meanwhile, the crane has the function of constant tension, which can provide software and hardware support for the smooth cable laying of the whole vessel and the lifting of large-sized heavy loads.

Currently, CSSC 704 Research Institute’s gantry systems have been applied to many fields such as scientific research and offshore engineering, and have been used in crane tugs, scientific research and offshore vessels.
