Sirius placed an order of two plus two 15 000 dwt Oil/chemical tankers in China

Sirius Shipping have placed an order of two plus two 15 000 dwt Oil/chemical tankers at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard, Yangzho.

The new tanker has been designed by Kongsberg Maritime. With the Length of 147.0m, beam of 22.0m, design draft of 8.7m, capacity of 15 000 DWT and 16 800 m3+730 m3 deck tanks, the vessel be able to handle 14 grades of cargo. Also, methanol prepared engine and methanol fuel tanks installed, the vessel has an estimated EEDI 38% below the 2025 Phase III requirements making it super efficient.

With Methanol as fuel onboard the vessel is able to comply beyond the European Green Deal package: FIT FOR 55 and its FuelEU Maritime initiative. With future supply of E-Methanol the vessel is able to reach ZERO Co2 and almost non-existent NOx emissions.
