Mawei Shipbuilding Successfully Delivered a 2900TEU Containership

On July 18th, Mawei Shipbuilding, an enterprise under Fujian Shipbuilding Industry, successfully delivered the 2,900 TEU containership (MW465-8).

The containership adopts Chittagong type wide-body design, with a length of 185.99 meters, a breadth of 35.20 meters, a depth of 17.20 meters, a full-load draught of 11.00 meters, and a deadweight of about 36,380 tons.

In terms of energy saving, it adopts S-Bow low-wave drag-boosting line shape, which takes into account the comprehensive navigational performance of each draft under the premise of guaranteeing the speed of the designed draft, and it is a highly efficient, economic and green containership.

It is understood that since 2022, when Fujian Shipbuilding Industry and East Pacific Shipping signed an order for eight 2,900 TEU containerships, Fujian Shipbuilding Industry has actively promoted the project’s research and design, material procurement and construction, and the construction speed and quality have repeatedly achieved new breakthroughs, and the delivery of all of them has been completed at present.
