On July 17th, Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding under China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) successfully launched two 5500 TEU containerships built for French CMA CGM Group, marking that the main construction of the two containerships was almost completed, fully entering outfitting completion, systems commissioning stage.
It is understood that the launched two 5500TEU containerships are the 7th and 8th in the series, which is of single-propeller, diesel-driven ocean-going containership. The containership has an overall length of 255 meters, a beam of 40 meters, a depth of 22 meters, a design draft of 12 meters, a structural draft of 14 meters, and a design speed of about 20 knots.
Compared with the previous ships, these two containerships was substantially improved to 68.6% when launched, laying a solid foundation for the mooring test.
