SWS set to build a 9,000 CEU PCTC

On July 18, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), successfully held a steel cutting ceremony of H1603, the first built 9,000 CEU PCTC (pure car and track carrier) for Italian company GRIMALDI.

Classed by RINA, H1603 has an overall length of 199.90 meters, a beam of 38.0 meters, a depth of 14.8 meters, a design draught of 9.2 meters and a design speed of 19.0 kn. This PCTC fitted with MAN B&W 7S60MEC10.6-HPSCR main engine meets Tier II/III specifications.

All departments of SWS are actively implementing production preparations. At present, the detailed design of the project has reached 93%, and all the production preparations are being implemented as planned.
