DACKS christened two 82,000 dwt bulk carriers on the same day

On July 16th, Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering (DACKS) successfully christened two new 82,000 DWT bulk carriers “Great Blossom” and “Great Flourist” built for CMB Financial Leasing.And the first bulk carrier of this series, “Great Blossom”, was signed and delivered to the ship owner.

These two bulk carriers are upgraded based on the well-operated old vessels of Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering (NACKS), which integrates advanced energy-saving and emission reduction technology and intelligent means, becoming a model of new-generation green and intelligent vessels.

With an overall length of 228.9 meters and a beam of 32.24 meters, the bulk carrier is powered by a MAN B&W 6S50ME-C9.7 HPSCR main engine, which meets the TIER III emission standards of the International Maritime Organization and the Ship Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) III specification.

It is worth mentioning that during the same period, DACKS also launched the 64,000 dwt bulk carrier DE144 and laid the keel of the 64,000 dwt bulk carrier DE153, which fully demonstrated the company’s excellent construction capability and opened the prelude to the full opening of the production and operation tasks in the second half of the year.
