COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (Zhoushan)’s wharf lengthening project passed inspection

Recently, COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) organized and held delivery and approval meeting of No.2 wharf lengthening project. The different institutions such as construction, EPC general contracting, supervision, testing, etc. reported their projects respectively, and surveyed the quality of engineering construction.

After comprehensive evaluation, the construction of No.2 wharf lengthening project was completed in accordance with the approved scale, content, standards and requirements, the project quality was qualified, and the information submitted for project handover and acceptance was detailed and complete, so it was agreed to pass the handover and inspection.

It is understood that No.2 wharf lengthening section is located on the west side of the wharf. The total length of the lengthening section is 100m, and the lengthening program considers the construction of a new continuous wharf, which does not change the berth level of the constructed No.2 wharf and builds a new approach bridge along the west side of the water.

The original length of No.2 wharf is 226m, after lengthening, it can berth 150,000-ton class vessels. The expansion of the operating range of gantries, vehicles and other equipment in the dock area can further improve the efficiency of production and operation, give full play to the utilization rate of limited shoreline resources, and enhance the ability of repairing and converting medium-sized and large vessels.

The successful delivery and acceptance of the No.2 wharf lengthening project will further meet the needs of COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (Zhoushan)’s large-scale vessel repair and conversion business.
