CMJL (Weihai) Completed Sea Trials of 7,000 CEU Dual-Fuel PCTC

Recently, China Merchants Jingling Shipyard (Weihai) (“CMJL (Weihai)”) completed the sea trials of a 7000 dual-fuel PCTC (pure car and track carrier), and returned to port on schedule.

As previously reported, the PCTC, which started construction at the end of November 2022, is the second 7,000 CEU dual-fuel car carrier built by CMJL (Weihai) for the Singaporean shipowner EPS.

The PCTC is 199.9 meters long, 38 meters wide, with a design draft of 8.6 meters, a gross tonnage of 72,000 tons, a design speed of 19.5 knots, and a total of 12 cargo decks.

It is equipped with a high-pressure dual-fuel main engine and two 2,000 m³ LNG tanks, which meets the requirements of TIER III emission standards of the International Maritime Organization.

The PCTC adopts dual-fuel hybrid power system and a number of environmental protection technologies, which improves the energy efficiency level and reduces the pollution to the marine and atmospheric environment, and has the advantageous features of high efficiency, economy, green and environmental protection.
