SWS started the assembly of the second domestically built large cruise ship

According to CCTV news, on July 14, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) started the assembly of the second domestically built large cruise ship, and the construction entered an accelerated period.

Whether in terms of scale, room layout, or system configuration, the second cruise ship has been upgraded, while it can be built in less time, with a 20% increase in construction efficiency, and the building cycle in dock will be compressed by nearly eight months.

It is understood that the second domestic large cruise ship has larger size and more advanced equipment, compared with the first cruise ship, the total tonnage increased by 0.64 million tons to 141,900 tons. Its total length increased by 17.4 meters, up to 341 meters; the number of stateroom also increased by 19, up to 2,144; and added 2 sets of desulfurization system and 5 sets of advanced environmental protection system equipment to make the whole ship sailing more green and eco-friendly.

It is planned that the second domestically built large cruise ship will start its first floating in early May 2025, launch at the end of March 2026, and start its sea trials in June of the same year, and finally complete its naming and delivery by the end of 2026.
