SWS signs classification contract with RINA for seven 9,000 CEU PCTCs

Recently, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) and Registro Italiano Navale (RINA) signed a classification contract for seven 9,000 CEU PCTCs (pure car and track carriers). Carlo Luzzatto, CEO and General Manager of Rena Group, Paolo Moretti, CEO of RINA Services, Giosuè Vezzuto, Global Vice President of RINA, Wang Qi, Chairman of SWS, and Zhou Qi, Deputy General Manager of SWS, attended the signing ceremony.

Giosuè Vezzuto and Zhou Qi signed the classification contract on behalf of both parties.

Before the ceremony, SWS and RINA introduced their respective business scope and development concepts, reviewed the projects under construction together, and looked forward to the future shipping market, industry norms and the development of new energy-powered ships.

Carlo Luzzatto said, RINA continues to plough into the Chinese market, with business scope covering ships, energy, asset management, etc., and is committed to innovation and technology research and development, and has accumulated a lot of experience in intellectual property management and projects.RINA will continue to do a good job in professional services and technical support, and hopes to carry out more extensive cooperation with SWS in more fields such as intelligent manufacturing of ships.

Wang Qi said, the two sides in the China’s first domestic large cruise ship overseas equipment commissioned inspection project and other aspects of good and extensive cooperation, which laid the foundation for the smooth implementation of subsequent projects.PCTC is an important achievement for SWS to deepen transformation and practice high-quality development by focusing on innovation drive.
