Wuhu Shipyard inked to build China’s first two 400 TEU river-sea direct pure electric container ships

On July 13, Wuhu Shipyard’s Tri Water New Energy Technology and Zhejiang Zhonghuaizhou Shipping Technology held a signing ceremony for the construction of 400 TEU river-sea direct pure electric container ships in Wuhu City.

The 400TEU river-sea direct pure electric container ship belongs to China’s first manufactured ships, and two of them are under contract to be built this time. This 400TEU container ship has an overall length of 104.68 meters, a width of 19 meters, with a design speed of 20km/h.

The container ship is equipped with 10 marine containerized batteries as the power source, with a battery capacity of 4,400 kWh, and adopts the power exchange mode to achieve the whole pure electric voyage.

After completion, the container ship will be put into operation on the route from Yangshan Deep Water Port to Taicang Port.
