CMJL (Nanjing) won an order for two 63,500 DWT bulk carriers

Recently, Nanjing Ocean Shipping Co., Ltd (“NASCO”) held a signing ceremony for the construction contract of two 63,500DWT bulk carriers with China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) (“(CMJL (Nanjing)”).

NASCO had placed an order with CMJL (Nanjing) for two 63,500DWT bulk carriers in 2023. At present, the project is in orderly progress. This new construction of two 63,500DWT bulk carriers is a major decision made by NASCO based on the current situation of the shipping market and the actual situation of the company.

The two new shipbuildings are designed to comply with the latest international conventions, rules and regulations, as well as safe, efficient, low-consumption and eco-friendly. They can sail in most regions of the world and is characterized by large deadweight and large cargo hold capacity, and is equipped with 4 sets of Crane, which makes it more cargo-friendly.

With the bow of wave-reducing and drag-enhancing design, the stern of wind- and wave-adapted line shape and the wind-resistance-reducing superstructure design, the resistance of the bulk carrier is reduced so as to improve the propulsion efficiency.

The design of the bulk carrier significantly reduces fuel consumption, improves the wave resistance and maneuverability in different sea conditions, and enhances the whole life cycle economics of the bulk carrier. The EEDI meets IMO Phase III requirements and is capable of carrying grain, coal, iron ore, steel coils, certain dangerous goods under the IMSBC specification and other dry bulk cargoes, as well as deck cargoes.
