George Procopiou ordered four bulk carriers from Chinese shipyard

Recently, Greek shipowner George Procopiou signed a  bulk carrier order with Qingdao Yangfan Shipbuilding Co.

It is reported that Procopiou’s bulk carrier company Sea Traders have commissioned four 82,000 dwt kamsarmax bulk carrier newbuildings from the shipyard, also known as Qingdao Shipyard. The vessels are expected to be delivered between June and December 2026.

Sea Traders has ordered 22 kamsarmax bulk carriers in the last two months, which has boosted Procopiou’s total spend on this type of vessels to $786 million.

Previously, Sea Traders signed its first contract for Kamsarmax bulk carriers in July, when it entered into a 10-vessel shipbuilding agreement with Hengli Heavy Industries .
